Abstract

The search for alternatives in animal nutrition has generated interest in using agricultural and industrial byproducts, such as glycerol, byproduct of biodiesel production. Glycerol can be used in ruminant diets due to its high energy content, which allows it to substitute grains in the ration. In this study we revise different pieces of research where glycerol has been supplied in the diet of ovine and bovine livestock, and the results obtained.
