Abstract

Nanotechnology is the art of manipulating matter, atom by atom, and study materials have a size of between 1 and 100 nanometers; it has a growing application and research field, since the small-scale materials acquire different properties and characteristics than those at a larger scale. Currently, there are various studies about the uses of nanotechnology in the areas of biology, human health and zootechnics production, with the objective of easing and optimizing processes of food production from animal origin. However, there is scarce research in this regard, so some of the methods and systems used in obtaining nanoparticles are detailed in this review, as well as the studies that address particularly the issue of animal nutrition.
