Abstract
The conceptual bases of the research-development model were applied to the design of a community strategy, stemming from the diversity of family backyards. The phases of the model proposed were motivation, diagnosis, and applied research; the design of strategies for community development and evaluation during each phase, in order to give feedback to the process, measure achievements and redefine orientations. The application of the model can contribute to food and nutritional security (human development), and to economic security (economic development) of the families, since it resulted in a strategic plan for the creation and implementation of an agribusiness for a group of women of 28
partners, who make banana, orange, guava and coconut marmalades, contributing to community development as a model to expand.
